All the activities are scheduled... read more so carefully that I was able to participate in everything I wanted to do. Their horses are very well cared for, well behaved and trained. No swaybacked trail nags here! The up to date whitewater rafts and staff were all very knowledgeable and safety oriented. The shooting involved expert SAFE instruction and a revolving set of varied experiences with different weapons. The children in attendance had the time of their lives as did this 74 year old horsewoman! The ranch is self sufficient ( off the grid) and well off the beaten path. A real community developed amongst the guests under the guidance and warm personalities of Heidi and Doug. The 30 plus years of love and devotion to the upkeep of the natural beauty of their ranch showed in the gardens and plantings of flowers and trees in abundance. Even the gaggle of teenaged sisters spent less time in the lodge (the only WiFi) than one would have imagined! A fun and deeply relaxing time in nature was had by all. I will definitely be back again! Happy Trails!

      Both trips featured comfortable cabins, absolutely excellent food, peaceful surroundings, and multiple activities without having to pay extra or contract for them.
      Heidi and... read more Doug had a fantastic staff both times. Some were family, some were hires, but all of them were wonderful. Each stay my youngest daughter was essentially adopted by one of the staff and made her experience even more memorable (Taylor, Kayla misses you look for a letter soon).
      Whether riding or rafting or shooting, safety was paramount and the entire staff practiced what they preached.
      My kids love the place.
      I am not into horses at all. I only chose a ranch vacation for my daughters. That being said, this place for me was sublime. As a single parent it was so relaxing to not be on the grid and after planned activities to know that it was safe to let my girls roam the grounds and play with the other kids and feed chickens and goats and zipline and just be free and happy awesome. Happy kids, happy dad.
      Go on the hike to the waterfall. If you have a license go on the ATV ride, you can handle it. Jump out of the rafts as many times as possible. Do Dragon's Tooth. Enjoy.

Each day brought new experiences- no two days were repeats.... read more Whether by horseback, river raft, on foot, or ATVs, the scenery was stunning. There were plenty of planned activities & adventures throughout the day and into the evening keeping kids, parents, and grandparents constantly engaged.
      The home cooked meals were absolutely delicious! Again, the menu changes daily.

      If you are looking for a family friendly Western experience- this is the ranch for you!
