      Heidi and... read more Doug had a fantastic staff both times. Some were family, some were hires, but all of them were wonderful. Each stay my youngest daughter was essentially adopted by one of the staff and made her experience even more memorable (Taylor, Kayla misses you look for a letter soon).
      Whether riding or rafting or shooting, safety was paramount and the entire staff practiced what they preached.
      My kids love the place.
      I am not into horses at all. I only chose a ranch vacation for my daughters. That being said, this place for me was sublime. As a single parent it was so relaxing to not be on the grid and after planned activities to know that it was safe to let my girls roam the grounds and play with the other kids and feed chickens and goats and zipline and just be free and happy awesome. Happy kids, happy dad.
      Go on the hike to the waterfall. If you have a license go on the ATV ride, you can handle it. Jump out of the rafts as many times as possible. Do Dragon's Tooth. Enjoy.

We... read more were initially unsure when considering a dude ranch/rafting vacation, if the experience would live up to the cost. All four of us (parents early 40’s and kids early teens) were blown away by the vacation experience. Absolutely delivered on value, and exceeded our expectations. It should be noted that any experience level can come out and enjoy these outdoor activities my wife for example had never rafted, never been on a horse, never shot a gun, and she had a lot of fun and really enjoyed herself.

      A beautiful remote setting, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday city life, where you park your car and let it collect dust for the entire week, everything else is taken care of. A family owned/operated ranch, where you can stay busy with fun activities all day long, or just relax in the mountains if that is more your speed. We wanted to be going all day everyday rafting the rapids, horseback trail riding/lessons, waterfall hiking, target and trap shooting, archery and ax throwing, fly fishing, zip line, and making new friends. Immersing ourselves in Marble Mountain Ranch and eating up the many stories Doug & Heidi shared of their life/rafting/ranch journey. Speaking of eating, all the meals are prepared for you fresh on site, and both Heidi and Doug are excellent cooks. We were thankful to have picked up Heidi’s cookbook and have re-lived several amazing meals since arriving back home after our trip. Those tastes will take us back to Marble Mountain Ranch each time we whip up another dish.

      Lodging was nice, with a cozy cabin in the middle of the property. Plenty of beds in two bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen with fridge/stove/sink, breakfast table inside and front porch table outside. After all the fun outdoors, we slept well each night. For those needing to keep a finger on the work pulse, WiFi was available at the main building, and I was able to take care of calls/check email without any issues all week.

      If we could rate this 10-stars, I would. Hopeful that more folks find this review and make the decision to head out to Marble Mountain Ranch.

    • star rating  A dream ranch vacation exceeding all expectations! - From the charmingly appointed rustic cabins to the farm to table exceptional homemade meals and deserts, this ranch exceeded any expectations I might have had. All the activities are scheduled... read more so carefully that I was able to participate in everything I wanted to do. Their horses are very well cared for, well behaved and trained. No swaybacked trail nags here! The up to date whitewater rafts and staff were all very knowledgeable and safety oriented. The shooting involved expert SAFE instruction and a revolving set of varied experiences with different weapons. The children in attendance had the time of their lives as did this 74 year old horsewoman! The ranch is self sufficient ( off the grid) and well off the beaten path. A real community developed amongst the guests under the guidance and warm personalities of Heidi and Doug. The 30 plus years of love and devotion to the upkeep of the natural beauty of their ranch showed in the gardens and plantings of flowers and trees in abundance. Even the gaggle of teenaged sisters spent less time in the lodge (the only WiFi) than one would have imagined! A fun and deeply relaxing time in nature was had by all. I will definitely be back again! Happy Trails!
