More Challenging Adventures Than The Younger Kids
For teenagers, the transition from childhood to young adulthood requires a unique blend of independence and excitement. Our guest ranch vacations at Marble Mountain Ranch are designed to meet this need by offering more challenging outdoor adventures than those available to younger guests.
Teenage dude ranchers can navigate white water rafting rapids in an inflatable kayak, embark on longer horseback riding treks through rugged wilderness trails, and practice the safe handling of firearms including clay pigeon shooting, archery, and black-powder muzzleloaders. They also have access to our paint ball course and, if they are at least 16, they can even take ATV rides on the same trails we traverse by horse. Beyond the action, these guest ranch vacations provide a rare opportunity to disconnect from digital devices and rediscover the art of direct interpersonal communication.
A Variety of Exciting Interactive Experiences
In a nutshell, our goal is to provide a battery of exciting interactive experiences that are based in Western traditions and in outdoor adventures. Your teenagers will be able to push the envelope of their comfort zones in a supportive and structured setting.
When you combine amazing food, spectacular natural settings in the Klamath River region, and non-judgemental staff, you create an environment where teenagers can truly grow. Who knows, it might just be one of the best experiences they carry into early adult-hood
Structure and Freedom for Teens
Teenagers require a careful balance between structure and freedom in their transition to adulthood. We provide that balance by enabling their exploration of new adventures that are always grounded in professional risk management.
One of the most memorable parts of our guest ranch vacations happens after dark. While the days are for high-energy rafting and horseback riding, the evenings offer an opportunity for late night stargazing. Far from city lights, the Milky Way at night provides a breathtaking backdrop for teenagers to reflect on their day and bond with peers under the stars.
Western Guest Ranch Vacations
Teenagers naturally seek out peer groups to define their identities and gain autonomy. While we acknowledge this need, Marble Mountain Ranch is less of a “teen summer camp” and more of a Western family adventure ranch. Our guest ranch vacations are choreographed so that parents and guardians are active participants in the adventure alongside their teenagers.
Bond and Connect with Your Teenagers
A visit to Marble Mountain Ranch is one of the best opportunities for you to bond and connect with your teenager. Real communication often happens best in uncontrived settings; over a great meal, during a shared activity, or while navigating the Klamath River.
A perfect example is our white water rafting program. Many teenagers have never navigated an inflatable kayak through rapids. When a teen chooses this option, they receive expert coaching and technical instruction, but the experience remains “about them.” When they return to the ranch to share their story around the campfire, their personal performance is recognized by the family and the larger village of their peers and other guests. Bonding happens easily when an individual’s story is shared and becomes the collective story of your dude ranch vacation.
